The Inspiration Behind SagraDAC
During his first visit to Barcelona, Eleven Audio founder Michael Xiao encountered the extraordinary presence of La Sagrada Família.
Its immense scale, intricate details, and harmony between strength and softness became the inspiration behind SagraDAC.
Music, like architecture, should have presence.
It should be powerful yet delicate, complex yet natural.
SagraDAC was created to pursue that same sense of wonder.
Advanced Discrete R-2R Architecture
At the heart of SagraDAC 2 is a custom discrete R-2R DAC architecture based on sign-magnitude conversion technology.
Unlike conventional Delta-Sigma DAC designs, the R-2R approach converts digital signals directly into analog through precision resistor networks.
This allows SagraDAC 2 to preserve musical texture, micro-dynamics, and natural harmonic structure.
Sign-Magnitude R-2R Conversion
SagraDAC 2 uses dual R-2R networks for positive and negative signal paths.
This sign-magnitude architecture reduces non-linearity across different signal levels, maintaining consistent accuracy even with low-level musical details.
27-bit Precision R-2R Module
The DAC section features a custom 27-bit precision R-2R module with ultra-high precision thin-film resistors.
Each digital signal passes through a carefully optimized FPGA processing stage before conversion, ensuring maximum accuracy and musical integrity.
FPGA-Based Digital Processing
SagraDAC 2 uses FPGA processing for advanced digital signal management.
High precision upsampling is performed with 67-bit calculation accuracy, reducing rounding errors and maintaining signal integrity throughout the conversion process.
Native Support for High Resolution Audio
SagraDAC 2 supports PCM up to 384kHz / 32-bit and DSD256.
DSD playback is handled through FPGA processing, converting DSD signals while preserving the advantages of the R-2R conversion architecture.
S/PDIF Blade Technology
Digital transmission is not only about data.
It is also about timing.
S/PDIF signals are affected by waveform distortion, threshold detection, and jitter.
SagraDAC 2 introduces S/PDIF Blade technology, allowing users to adjust the digital signal recognition threshold to achieve optimal compatibility and stability with different transports.
Nine-Level Threshold Adjustment
With nine selectable levels, S/PDIF Blade allows SagraDAC 2 to adapt to different digital sources, improving signal locking stability and reducing timing errors.
Custom Amanero USB Interface
SagraDAC 2 features a custom USB interface developed with Amanero.Supporting USB Audio Class 2.0, it provides stable high-resolution playback with PCM up to 384kHz and DSD256.
Independent Discrete Power Supply Design
The power supply is designed with the same philosophy as high-performance amplifier circuits.
Nine independent power supply sections are isolated to minimize interference and provide clean energy for each critical circuit stage.
