More and more users of digital streaming audio equipment and analog devices such as DACs, headphone amplifiers, and phono preamps are finding that the output quality of the transformer has become a key factor in determining the performance of an audio system. Eleven Audio's newly developed VoltCel linear power supply is a redesigned power supply based on the logic of Hiend analog amplifier circuits, which can significantly improve the sound quality performance of digital and analog audio equipment.

More than Purification and Filtering

Traditional power supply design aims to provide stable operation for the system, which is far from meeting the extremely high technical requirements of audio systems.

Linear power supply products in the audio market mostly rely on passive filtering (such as stacking a large number of filter capacitors) and supplementary components (such as power transformers made of heavy materials and rectifier diodes used beyond specifications). In terms of active circuit design, they are limited to adding transistors to existing industrial power ICs to expand the output current, without making any improvement to the active circuit technology.

All DC power supplies experience voltage fluctuations with load changes, resulting in varying degrees of output voltage fluctuations—a characteristic common to all DC power supplies. An ideal power supply should exhibit a symmetrical transient response to load current fluctuations. However, typical DC power supplies generally exhibit an 'asymmetry' in their fluctuation response; a difference of 2.5 times between positive and negative responses is common. This leads to strong nonlinear distortion with low Internal Impedance being transmitted to audio equipment, thus interfering with the purity of sound quality. VoltCel, through its symmetrical balanced circuit design, enables the power supply to produce a perfectly symmetrical response to positive and negative load current fluctuations. 

BTR (Balanced Transient Response)
VoltCel's exclusive BTR technology, through a precise and high-speed symmetrical balanced circuit design, exhibits a balanced and symmetrical response. This prevents the power supply from injecting strong non-linear distortion into the audio equipment, thereby significantly improving the purity of the sound quality.

▸ LDCD (Linear Dynamic Current Drive)
Industrial applications don't impose stringent bandwidth requirements on power supplies and power ICs; performance typically degrades significantly at frequencies in the kilohertz range. A common solution is to place a decoupling capacitor (usually 0.1uF) close to the power pin of each IC in the device to address high-frequency performance. While this adequately solves the problem of stable device operation, it's far from sufficient for demanding audio systems. Audio systems require consistently high performance from the power supply across a frequency range exceeding audible limits. VoltCel, with its high-bandwidth current drive capability up to 100kHz, ensures output voltage stability, resulting in solid, powerful, pure, and incredibly detailed sound.
